Belinda Pollard founded the business in 1998, and coordinates a team of freelance specialists to produce trade quality books — both paperbacks and ebooks.

Fees are based on the rates recommended by the Australian Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance.

Why the funny name?
The business was originally known as Write Angles, but no one could spell it. Misdirected emails are rare since the business was renamed in March 2010!
Our new name captures the agile nature of our small structure. As they say, it’s not the size of the dog in the fight that counts, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.

And, you can spell it, can’t you!
Killarney Pollard, the original Small Blue Dog, is a blue-and-tan Aussie terrier. An early love of newspapers hinted at her publishing career to come, even if she digested them through the wrong part of her face. These days her involvement in the business is mostly ceremonial because, frankly, her spelling ain’t that great.
