My blog is primarily for authors and self-publishers, but the resources on this page are especially for fellow business people.
When traffic for this blog grew by 2000% in 18 months (after idling in complete obscurity for the first three years), I began to evaluate what I’d done differently and speak about it at meetings of business owners.
It has definitely been a process of trial and error for me. However, I’ve discovered that at its heart, it’s about creating Content that people want to read and share.
First, the downloads…
I’ve created an ebook and worksheet that cover the material included in my presentation to businesses. I reveal the principles I’ve gleaned from my experience.
Yes, it contains real information, not just a marketing pitch.
Yes, I share my mistakes as well as successes, and even (gasp) some stats! (How embarrassing.)
Download a copy of my free ebook, Websites that Create Customers (PDF 1.7 MB): Websites-that-create-customers150719
Download a copy of the accompanying website worksheet here (PDF, 185 kb): Website-worksheet
If you’d like an easy way to share the ebook and worksheet with your friends and networks, SCROLL DOWN to the bottom of the page and use the sharing buttons.
Make yourself at home
You might like to browse around this blog while you’re here, and see if it triggers any thoughts for how you could use Content on your website.
Remember, this website is focused on helping authors rather than businesses.
But think laterally. What you do might look completely different to what I’ve done. But perhaps you notice underlying principles that trigger useful, workable, relevant ideas.
Like some help?
Editing articles for your website or blog
You’re busy, we both know that. Just throw your content together, and I will whip it into shape. Forget about grammar and style. All you need to do is include the required facts and ideas, plus links to any other websites that you wish to mention in your article.
I will return a clean document, ready for you to copy and paste into your content management system.
IMPORTANT: This is far more than correcting typos. It’s about making you sound amazing, allowing your website visitors to see the expertise you have in your field, while also enabling them to get to know you better as a person.
It’s also about making sure your articles are not just advertorials but genuinely solving problems for people.
Each article will be reworked to ensure it is working as hard as it should be to draw visitors to your website and customers to your business.
But – obeying the first rule of the best editing – the finished product will still sound like you, not me!
