Marketing a book used to be about getting yourself on television and into the newspapers and buying advertising space. It’s a very different world now.
The old ways can still be handy sometimes, but most of the new ways of marketing a book, and the ones that have most relevance to self-publishers, are about relationships.
It’s not enough to write a great book any more. People want to feel like they know you. And the new social media tools can help you make that happen.
And it’s the friends you make that will help spread the news about your book. Real friends, not just “useful people”!
We’ll be adding more articles here on the topics of:
- blogging and building an “author platform”
- the use of social media tools like Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest
- how to get your self-published book reviewed
- how to find the people you need to know, and how to help them!
