Everyone has a book in them. The secret is getting it outta there!
It’s not some mysterious secret art, much as we writerly types might like you to think it is. You can learn to write a good book. Yes, you can.
But there will be work involved. Are you ready for that? Of course you are!
I am currently developing an intensive online course in how to write a book. There will be a fee for the course, but I will also be putting out some of the basic ideas and principles for free via this website, so stay tuned. Sign up for the email newsletter (top right) to make sure you get all the articles as they appear. There’s no fee for the newsletter, and absolutely no spam (but if you find it useful you might like to think about how you can Pay It Forward… help someone else with skills that YOU have!)
Writing a book
If you’ve got good spelling and grammar, that’s a great start. But it takes more than that to write a book.
And you can learn to write well even if you haven’t had the advantage of a sophisticated writing education.
A compelling story is the most important thing. This doesn’t mean being careless about technique. Quality always matters. But technique is a servant of good writing, not its master.
Let’s work on it together over the coming months.
